Symptoms
- 0xCAA50024 after signing in on a new device
- Teams installs but refuses the account
- Other Office apps show similar errors
Possible causes
- Device enrolled via MDM, but the account lacks a matching license
- Tenant requires compliance, but your license does not include it
- Duplicate account links on the device
Solutions
1.Remove duplicate accounts
-
Open Settings, Accounts, 'Access work or school'.
-
Disconnect every account listed.
-
Reboot, then re-add only the current account.
2.Check license status with IT
-
Ask IT to check your license in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
-
Intune enrollment usually requires a 'Microsoft 365 Business' or 'E3/E5' license.
-
If needed, the license can be reassigned.
3.Re-register the device
-
Open PowerShell as admin.
-
Reset the local device token.
dsregcmd /leave -
Reboot and sign in, allowing re-registration.
0xCAA50024 is almost always an admin problem, not an end-user one. File a ticket with IT including your license type and device hostname.
