  • Endless sign-in loop in the desktop client
  • Error message 'There was a problem with authorization'

Possible causes

  • Multiple Microsoft accounts on the same Windows profile
  • Incorrect system time or timezone
  • Corrupted token cache
  • Conditional Access policy blocking the device

Solutions

1.Check and auto-set system time

  1. Open Windows Settings and go to Time and Language.

  2. Enable 'Set time automatically' and 'Set time zone automatically'.

  3. Click 'Sync now', then restart Teams.

2.Clear the Teams token cache

  1. Quit Teams completely via Task Manager.

  2. Delete the cache folder.

    %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
  3. Restart Teams and sign in fresh.

3.Reconnect your work or school account

  1. Open Settings, then Accounts, then 'Access work or school'.

  2. Disconnect the affected account, then add it again.

  3. Restart the machine before opening Teams.

If none of the solutions help, check whether your IT has a Conditional Access policy that blocks non-compliant devices. In that case you will need help from your IT administration.
