Camera not detected in Teams

Quick fixes
- Close other apps that use the camera
- Check camera permission in the operating system
- Unplug USB webcams briefly and plug them back in
Other apps block the camera
Only one app can access the camera at a time. Close browser tabs with web meetings, Zoom, OBS, or Snap Camera before starting Teams.
Driver problems on Windows
Open Device Manager and check Imaging devices for your camera. If you see a warning icon, uninstall the driver and reboot.
Hardware privacy switch
Many business laptops have a mechanical camera switch or a function key. Check that before chasing software issues.
External webcams
Plug the webcam directly into the laptop, not through a USB hub. Underpowered hubs are a common cause for black images.
