Symptoms

  • 0xCAA82EE2 after a long wait
  • Sign-in starts, then times out
  • Internet feels generally slow

Possible causes

  • High packet loss or latency on the network
  • Mobile data or weak Wi-Fi
  • Proxy or VPN with MTU issues
  • Antivirus with aggressive TLS inspection

Solutions

1.Check network quality

  1. Open a terminal and test.

    ping -n 20 teams.microsoft.com
  2. Watch for packet loss or response times above 200 ms.

  3. If Wi-Fi is weak, switch to LAN or a different network.

2.Lower the VPN MTU

  1. If VPN is active, set the VPN client MTU to 1400 or 1380.

  2. Reconnect and relaunch Teams.

3.Disable antivirus TLS scanner

  1. Open your antivirus and look for 'HTTPS scan' or 'SSL inspection'.

  2. Disable that feature temporarily.

  3. Try sign-in again.

If 0xCAA82EE2 only happens on the road, it is almost always the mobile network. Reproduce in the office on cable - if the error disappears, it was the connection.
